Sermon: The Gate of Heaven

The first mention of the term house of God in the Scripture is from Genesis 28. Jacob encountered the Lord in a dream where he saw a ladder connecting heaven and earth, with angels ascending and descending on the ladder. When he woke up from the dream he said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” (Genesis 28:17).

The house of God is also the gate of heaven. A gate speaks of an access point. Therefore, the house of God is the place where heaven gains entrance into the earth.

When Jesus came He modeled this. Everywhere He went He released the reality of heaven into people lives, bringing salvation, healing, and deliverance.
